Issue#401071: Hardware - GTA V on Intel HD530 - anyone done it?

  • My machine is more than fast enough for my needs but I like to game on occasion. My Skylake rig: i3-6100, 16GB RAM, can play CS:GO at decent settings very well. I was quite surprised, in fact.

Now I'm wondering, how does GTAV play on the same hardware? Anyone try it? I'm not interested in hearing a chorus of people telling me to get a discrete card, nor do I agree that the only way to play a game is at max settings. Somewhere, out there, someone has played the game with the same setup as me and can offer an honest assessment of how playable it is and what settings are reasonable.

That said, it seems the GFX card market is a tough bit these days. There are not real solid options in the $100-$150 space anymore, likely because integrated graphics have gotten so much better. And I'm one of those people who would never buy a $500 gfx card for one game. Even $300 is a bit much. The 750Ti and the GTX950 seem to be decent for the price because any less money and the performance is pretty dismal, it seems.

  • Issue#160314: Intel - NUC 6i5SYH hardware issue causes reboot loop

Last night I ran into a hardware issue that makes my brand new 6i5SYH NUC unusable. Please, advise!  The full story.  Preamble: I got new Skylake NUC in the end of January. BIOS version was 0028. I put inside 2 x 8GB Kingston HyperX Impact DDR4 2133 MHz, and Samsung EVO 850 M.2 500GB. I installed Windows 10 Pro 64bit, but changed group policy not to install updates w/o my review. Then I updated BIOS to 0033. And everything worked well for ~3 weeks. The only thing I could complain, that monitor didn't wake from sleep (on DP), so I had to disable sleep mode completely.   Problem: Yesterday I noticed that WiFi on NUC cannot connect to the Internet, although all other laptops, tablets and phones in house could. Then NUC unexpectedly rebooted. Then, right from logon screen rebooted again, and entered the endless reboot loop. Every couple of reboots it displayed recovery screen, so I was able to try all recovery procedures MS offers. Nothing helped. The biggest

  • Issue#254879: Hardware - Intel Skylake vCore fluctuation - mobo issue?

Hi folks, I'm administering a new system that's showing intermittent stability issues. The specs are quite basic: i6-6500GA-Z170-HD38GB DDR4 (Kingston) in dual channel config240GB Sandisk Ultra II SSDAsus GTX960 Strix w. 4GB VRAMAntec Truepower Classic Gold 650W PSU I originally thought it might be a software or overtemp issue, ruled out the first and did some system monitoring for the second. So, that's how I found out that vCore is fluctuating across about a 0.5V range from about 0.59V up to about 1.1V. Just wanted some confirmation on my thoughts that this is well out of the normal band in which case there's probably (definitely) something wrong with the voltage regulation on the mobo. The range seems excessive and the frequency of the oscillation is wild - screen shot of the monitoring below: Thoughts? Attached Images

In the hopes of generating some technical sharing on this particular HW issue I am starting up a thread to share the symptoms and potential solution to what appears to be a fairly common failure mode on the Macbook Pro 13" (and possible other unibody Macbooks). I suspect these are usually the result of some trauma or liquid spill that damages some aspect of the SMC control circuit. Please feel free to add your own experiences/symptoms and hopefully we can get close to the HW solution.... SMC Issue on MBP 13 - Hardware Troubleshooting Guide

I'm having display issues with my v470 laptop when I install Intel Graphics drivers. After few mins of using the laptop, the display gets distorted and locks up the laptop. I have to power off the laptop every time. I tried installing the Intel Onbroad Graphics drivers that's available from Lenovo's website. I also try install the latest Intel HD Graphics 3000 drivers from Intel website. I ran memtest successfully without any errors.  The odd part is whenever I uninstall the Intel Graphics drivers the issue goes away.  This is how the display looks - http://s17.postimg.org/a5pxr5uvj/IMG_0056.jpg Specs: i5 2410M8 gigs RAMWin 7 Ultimate x64 Any help would be appreciated. I was wondering if anyone knows if the Netflix and DRM issue that affects the Phoebus is also present in ASUS's other sound products? I know the U7 Xonar had the same issue, but am not sure if it was fixed or not. Is it a C-Media hardware problem or driver issue? Just curious.

  • Issue#24500: Battery drain & no hardware issue

I have an iPhone 5S which is on iOS 9.2.1. The battery drains extremely fast while the phone is not is use, screen locked, the drain is much lesser during normal usage. Also, the battery stats page keeps saying that the battery stats will occur after using the phone for a few minutes all the time. The phone also says that this iPhone has been plugged in since last charge, but the time counters since the last full charge are fine. I had the same issue on iOS 9.2. I tried a hard reset, and a clean iTunes restore, I am out of ideas, what do i do? I called apple support and they ran a diagnostic on the phone, turns out my battery has only 13 cycles on it and is grade A ok. They want me to bring it in for a hardware check anyway at the country of purchase, which is 7000 miles away from where I am now :(

  • Issue#31677: Parrot Bebop 2 Camera Blurry Issue Comparison (Night, Cloudy, Day) - Not first batch hardware issue.

This video is to prove that the Bebop 2 camera blurry video is not caused by a camera defect but the firmware programming issue. They need to fix... I would suggest FF3 to allow users to adjust the video recording bandwidth optionally (from default 20Mbps to 45Mbps adjustable) to be set in the preference of coming updates of FF3. The bandwidth of FPV live feed remains unchanged is ok for a 1500mW bi-directional Router Mod but not sure for a stock drone. Also to provide an option to disable denoise filter will be nice. But I don't think Paris is ok and understandable to do these new optimizations.

  • Issue#43480: [ubuntu] Intel Graphics Issue

Hi Guys, This is Karan. I'm running on Ubuntu 15.10 Willy Werewolf, ASRock H81 PRO BTC Mobo, Intel Pentium G3258 4th Generation Haswell Processor that claims to bundle 4th Gen. Intel Extreme Graphics. I'm dual booting Ubuntu 15.10 with Windows 10 both on separate HDDs. I'm playing graphics intensive games on Windows and I've installed Intel Graphics from Intel's own website leading to Intel Graphics Installer for Linux. After taking much time, the app displayed success message and asked a reboot. I did reboot and initial boot screen display was at about 640x480 resolution and then switched back to original 1024x768 resolution during boot and logged in as usually. I didn't noticed anything different from Ubuntu without Intel Graphics and/or with Intel Graphics. Next I ran, VMWare Workstation 12 and Installed Windows 8.1 x86 guest OS in it. I enabled 3D Support in settings but when I booted the VM, it displayed and error message that No 3D Support is available from Host OS... Did I did

  • Issue#62561: [ubuntu] MPV h.265 hardware decoding issue

Hello all, Recently i purchased the nvidia GTX 960 (Zotac OC) in order to use hardware encoder/decoder capabilities for h.264 and h.265. I installed the latest nvidia drivers and compiled libvdpau 1.1.1 by myself as it is recently no more part of nvidia distribution. when i launch the following command : mpv --hwdec=vfpau --vo=opengl <h265filename>.mp4 I'm immediately falling-back to software decoding. The h265 is properly hardware decoded under windows 10 by using media player classic HC through DVXA2 use. As only main profile is compatible with Nvidia card, I imagine the file is encoded with good profile. when I type vdpauinfo I have the following: Code: display: :0  screen: 0 API version: 1 Information string: NVIDIA VDPAU Driver Shared Library  361.18  Sat Jan  9 20:45:00 PST 2016 Video surface: name  width height types ------------------------------------------- 420    4096  4096  NV12 YV12 422    4096  40

The NUC is attached to a BenQ FullHD Monitor via HDMI out, which has speakers built in. I have installed the latest Graphics drivers as well as the Realtek Audio drivers. Each time when I boot the device, I get a red X symbol on the speaker icon in the task bar telling me that no audio device was found. When I click on it, Windows identifies the issue and prompts me to restart. When I do that, the speaker is recognized and I can hear the audio boith via HDMI and the Audio jack.Next time I boot, I get the exact same issue again. How can I fix that?I already tried uninstalling the Realtek audio driver, which doesn't make any difference.

Hi, I got some frustrating issues with my Intel HD 520 and Audio via HDMI / mDP. [Description]The Audio over HDMI just stops/breaks under some circumstances: 1. Starting some games in fullscreen will instantly break audio over HDMI / mDP. Window Mode works just fine.2. Using Kodi in Fullscreen when switchin between different refresh rates (24p, 50p, 60p). It can happen after some videos or even after just one video. There is no error or anything reported back to me. After this issue happend the software will hang / stutter and freezes when closed down. Some games work just fine for hours without any issues. I've got no idea why that is. When starting the Game "Faster than Light" in fullscreen sound breaks 100% of all times.Playing some old backups of my GameCube games with Dolphin emulator and DirectX as Renderer will also lead 100% to this issue. The Games "Kerbal Space Program" and "Dead Space 1" worked always without any issues.  [Hardware]Its

  • Issue#81856: Lenovo - M900 Tiny - Intel HD530 Graphic Driver Issues

Hello - Just received my M900 Tiny last week and an very impressed.  However, there is one nagging issue I wish Intel and Lenovo would address.  The HD 530 Graphics Driver has issues.  There is a thread on the Intel site with numerous complaints of screen flickering or parts of the screen turning black for a second before returning to normal.  This is happening to me.  Intel says they are working on it.  In addition to the issues I've encoutered above, I've received at least three system messages that the HD 530 Graphics driver has momentarily failed but then recovered.  I've contacted Lenovo on the phone, but the service person was not very confident on directing me to the latest driver.  She first directed me to drivers for discreat graphic adapters, but then sent me to the generic video driver page for the M900 Desktops.  Since none of the machines listed specifically indicated M900 Tiny - some mentioned M700 Tiny - I'm holding

  • Issue#93249: Hardware - EVGA 980 Ti Hybrid SLI issue after custom loop upgrade and motherboard swap

What started out as a plan to install a small custom loop to replace my Corsair H110i GT turned into a much bigger project when I decided to incorporate my EVGA 980 Ti Hybrids into the loop as well. I switched from an Asus x99 Deluxe to an Asus Rampage V Extreme, both of which are the USB 3.1 variant. Aside from a motherboard, power supply, case and cooling upgrade, everything else is the same. All said and done, it turned out fantastic with the exception of performance in SLI. When I test/bench the 980 Ti's individually, they perform notably better than they did with the old Hybrid coolers and run much cooler. When I test/bench them in SLI they don't come close to what I achieved in SLI with the stock EVGA Hybrid coolers. There seems to be a bottleneck somewhere as the cards in SLI are holding their overclock nicely, but I get the same scores at stock speeds and overclocked. When I run tests with the cards configured individually, an overclock results in a substantial improvement.

  • Issue#93398: Hardware - Help Needed: Troubleshoot HDD Issue

A few years ago, I did my first build with an SSD. At the time I couldn't afford a large capacity SSD, so I went with a 60GB SSD for my OS and two Samsung 1TB HDDs (one for documents, photos, games and non-essential programs, and the second as my back-up drive). As time has gone by, with various WIN7 updates and me moving more and more programs to the SSD, I hit capacity. Last month I decided to swap out the 60GB SSD for a 240GB one. I did a fresh WIN7 install, backed up all of my files to the secondary Samsung HDD and did a wipe of my primary Samsung HDD. I also installed every program with the exception of Steam and Quicken on the SSD. Everything was working fine for about a month. Then the other night I went to launch Bioshock Infinite, and Steam would hang and I would have to force an End Task through Task Manager or perform a manual reboot. This also started to happen with Quicken. I uninstalled Quicken and moved it to my SSD. The problem seemed to go away as now Bioshock Infi

It's official: Intel shuts down the cheap overclocking party by closing Skylake loophole "The cheap overclocking party is over. Intel has also announced they are going to exclusively focus on power efficiency over performance in the future. This is why be desperately need Zen to rebound AMD.

  • Issue#93401: Hardware - Intel plans to reduce performance of next-generation CPUs

Looks like Cannonlake/Tigerlake may be a performance pinnacle never to be surpassed. http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/2...o-reduce-power Quote: Now, Intel has acknowledged that the future of semiconductors may rely on technologies that reduce absolute performance in exchange for improved power consumption. William Holt, head of Intel’s Technology and Manufacturing Group, made the announcement at the International Solid State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) this past week, when discussing some of the options Intel is evaluating. These technologies aren’t coming next year or the year after — all of the tech in question would be introduced after 2021. “We’re going to see major transitions,” said Holt. “The new technology will be fundamentally different. The best pure technology improvements we can make will bring improvements in power consumption but will reduce speed.” This is why all enthusiasts should hope that Zen is a success, even if you
